Emergency Services:

Health Care

The nearest hospital is locatedin Lynn Lake and Thompson. There is a communityhealth representative located on the reserve.

Police

The First Nation employs twoFirst Nation constables. The nearest RCMP detachment is located in Lynn Lakewhere three constables are on staff.

Fire Protection

The First Nation has one firefighting truck.

 

Infrastructure

Water supply

The community constructed awater treatment plant and distribution system in 2000. All houses and communitybuildings are connected.

Sewage Disposal

The community constructed a sewagetreatment plant and collection system in 2000. All houses and communitybuildings are connected.

Roads

Road access to Lac Brochet is limited to the occasionalwinter road.

Postal Service

Air mail is delivered every week to the community.

Communications

The First Nation receives radioand television programming via satellite. A satellite ground station is locatedin the community.

Transportation:

§ A 3,600 foot gravel airstrip is maintained by thecommunity. An extension on the airstrip is being undertaken by the ManitobaDepartment of Highways.

§ A well-maintained airport terminal is located nearthe First Nation. Scheduled air service to Thompson, as are charters fromThompson and LynnLake.

§ Dock facilities accommodate float planes and boats.

Recreation

On-reserve facilities include acommunity hall, Administration office, an outdoor rink, baseball diamond, apool hall, arena, Roman Catholic church, daycare and Aboriginal Head StartProgram.
